**RESPONSIBILITIES:**


This individual will play a key strategic role in selecting suppliers, assessing supplier capabilities, developing alternate sources, evaluating supplier performance, and negotiating price and delivery terms.


In addition, this position will be responsible for establishing the strategy for executing operational transformation initiatives in the supply chain. This position supports the other initiatives and goals of the business units; including sourcing requirements for new product development, obsolescence mitigation, inventory reduction, cash flow improvement, key performance initiatives, low cost sourcing and quality and delivery improvement within the supply chain.


The contract manager works with the Business Units to identify their sourcing needs and to facilitate the relationship between the suppliers and those divisional actions. This could include coordination of their lean initiatives, supplier rationalization and cost reduction goals.


Directs and participates in sourcing decisions at each of the department levels to assess and evaluate total cost sourcing solutions for optimization of price, quality, delivery and relationship objectives. Leading and coordinating the request for quote (RFQ) activity required within the United States or international intercompany factories in support of domestic and international customer base requirements.


Duties may include mentoring of associate buyers, and monitoring procurement policy and procedures, by reviewing monthly performance reports. Candidate must have the ability to manage major suppliers. Must be able to identify and monitor supplier's continuous improvement within their business, or enhance their existing continuous improvement initiatives.


The candidate will also be expected to contribute to strategic business initiatives and to work effectively with NA and Global Commodity Management Teams. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to communicate within all levels of management required. Candidate should have the ability to execute long-term supplier agreements.


**Qualification:**


+ 5-10 yrs in a Supply Chain Mgmt function, procurement, cost management

+ Minimum 3 to 5 years purchasing experience

+ Strong understanding of Field Purchasing business requirements, financial analysis and strategic goal setting required

+ ACE or quality program knowledge a plus


**Education:**


+ Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business Administration / Supply Chain Management or Finance. Engineering Degree

+ Master's Degree a plus
