UTC Aerospace Systems (UTAS) is one of the world's largest suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and defense products. ISR & Space Systems is a business unit within UTAS and our products reside in deep space, low earth orbit, undersea and on the ground. We are also a major supplier to international space programs. The ISR & Space Systems business has contributed to significant advances in ground, air, space and imaging technology for over 85 years. Within ISR & Space Systems we design and manufacture Environmental Control and Life Support Systems on the International Space Station, including the space suit, and undersea in submarines.


ISR & Space Systems Windsor Locks is looking for energetic and highly motivated candidates for its Operations Organization to manage/lead a group of up to 12 Mechanical and Electrical Engineers for the Manufacturing Systems Engineering Group (MSE). The MSE Group is a part of Operations organization.


MSE provides highly technical engineering design and support for all of our Manufacturing Test Equipment, Facilities, and Metrology Lab located at the Space Systems Windsor Locks, CT Facility.


Qualified applicant will be required to:


+ Provide sound leadership and manage day-to-day activities within the group while working within a very dynamic work environment.

+ Be responsible for the planning and execution of the annual MSE Overhead budget.

+ Satisfy Customers by managing MSE projects and ensuring projects are provided on-time and within budget and meeting or exceeding all other customer commitments and milestones

+ Manage all department Capital Projects

+ Ensure MSE designs satisfy all federal, municipal, and local codes for construction.

+ Ensure all MSE designs are properly reviewed and accessed with a Hazard Analysis & Operability Study (HAZOPS) hazard assessment process prior to placing into service.

+ Support efforts associated with maintaining the Space Lab Manufacturing equipment at a 100% readiness level.

+ Review and modify existing standard work as required in an effort to reduce costs throughout the design and build process for equipment and facilities.

+ Oversee/support MSE Metrology Engineering to ensure processes are compliant to UTAS policies and contracted standards.

+ Implement process improvements in order to lean out processes


**Qualification:** 10 years minimum required in related position

**Education:** Engineering undergraduate degree required, Advanced degree in Engineering or Business is a plus
